How our quote & sourcing works

Specs, explained

Micron(Micrometre, um, mu)
A unit of thickness equal to one thousandth of a millimetre, used to measure plastic films such as pallet wrap and mailing bags. Higher micron means a thicker, tougher film. More
Kraft paper(Brown paper, Kraft wrapping paper)
A strong, tear-resistant paper made by the kraft pulping process, usually brown. It is widely used for wrapping, void fill, mailers and paper tape. More
Recyclable packaging(Recyclable materials, Kerbside recyclable packaging)
Packaging that can be collected, reprocessed and made into new products. Recyclability depends on the material and on whether local facilities actually accept it. More

Poly mailers vs paper mailers

Two mailing-bag routes — one prioritises water resistance and cost, the other recyclability and feel.

Poly mailers

Waterproof, lightweight, lowest cost.

Best for: Weather protection and lowest postage

  • Fully waterproof and tear-resistant
  • Lightest option — keeps postage down
  • Recycled-content versions available
  • Recycle at soft-plastic points, not kerbside

Paper mailers

Kerbside recyclable, premium unboxing.

Best for: Plastic-free, brand-led despatch

  • Kerbside recyclable

Mailing Bags — FAQs

What's the difference between poly and paper mailing bags?
Poly mailers are waterproof, lightweight and tear-resistant — ideal for clothing. Paper mailers are kerbside recyclable and give a more premium unboxing feel, but offer less water resistance. Many brands offer both depending on the product.
Are recycled mailing bags strong enough for post?
Yes. Our recycled-content poly mailers are manufactured to the same thickness and seal strength as virgin equivalents, so they perform the same in transit while lowering the environmental footprint.
Do you supply printed mailing bags?
Branded and printed mailing bags are available made-to-order through our supplier network. Minimum quantities apply. Request a bulk quote with your artwork requirements and quantity.
